Gigabyte's 785G Series Motherboards  

Gigabyte has launched new series of motherboards based on AMD 785G chipset. AMD 785G chipset has onboard ATI Radeon 4200 graphics core that brings DirectX 10.1 and Unified Video Decoder 2.0 support. Of the eight new Gigabyte 785G series motherboards, four support DDR2 memory modules and the rest support DDR3 memory modules. These new 785G motherboards are made with 2oz Copper and are expected to enhance performance on Windows 7 OS when they arrive.
Gigabyte 785G series motherboards will offer hardware acceleration and slick Blu-ray playback support. AMD Phenom/Athlon/Sempron CPUs with AM2 and AM2+ sockets are supported too. Along with that thes,e Gigabyte 785G series motherboard will also support the 45nm AMD Phenom II and Athlon II processors with Socket AM3 as well.

The four Gigabyte 785 series motherboards that support DDR2 memory modules are:

GA-MA785GPM-UD2H
GA-MA785GM-UD2H
GA-MA785GM-US2H

All the above four 785G series motherboard will support up to 1200+ MHz DDR2 except GA-MA785G-UD3H that supports up to 1333 MHz DDR2 modules. While the DDR3 supporting 785G motherboards can hold memory modules up to 1800+.

Gigabyte equips GA-MA785GPMT-UD2H and GA-MA785GPM-UD2H motherboards with 128MB 1333MHz DDR3 SidePort memory. This SidePort memory allows dedicated memory access for the integrated graphics for 10 percent additional boost in graphics performance.

All Gigabyte 785G series motherboards have DualBIOS technology that recovers the crashed BIOS data if main BIOS had crashed. This means pressure-less BIOS updating and assurance to recover BIOS data in case of severe malware attack on BIOS.

To compliment ATI Radeon 4200 HD graphics core, Gigabyte added Dolby Home Theater suite for giving life-like surround sound output experience while listening to music, watching movies or gaming. System hardware can be tweaked and easily managed with the Easy Tune6 software bundled with the motherboards for enjoying a stable system performance after overclocking.
